Photographic Restoration

Unlike restoration work undertaken on original works on paper and documents where the paper itself is treated, in the case of photographic restoration the damaged photograph is scanned onto computer and digitally repaired.

Old photographs are affected by acid burn and degeneration of the printing inks, as well as being vulnerable to humidity and fading by the sun’s rays.

Once the image has been stored on computer our experienced restorer is able to digitally repair tears, remove marks, restore colour (even on black and white photos) and alter the composition, in some cases removing unwanted people from the scene!  The new photograph can then be saved and printed in any size.

There’s no need to lose those precious family records forever.
