Julie Silvester

Born in Perth 1962.

Water and the coastal landscape has inspired me for years.

Using pastels for their immediacy and vibrancy helps me to
capture the play of light and colour of this pristine environment.
Being a dry medium allows me to work spontaniously on how
I feel without waiting for paint to dry.

Since exhibiting in 1992 I have received over 80 awards throughout
Western Australia and have exhibited successfully in open and invitation
only exhibitions.

I enjoy capturing moments in time and hope these works
bring enjoyment spiritually and visually to the viewer as
much as it did for me in creating them.
